Italy bans street prostitution

The Berlsuconi Government have issued a new set of laws aiming at fighting trafficing and prostitution, Swiss Sonntagszeitung reports.

According to the new proposal men and women engaging in street prostitution will be sentenced to up to 15 days or prison/ 150 000 EUR fine.

The report adds that a third of Italy´s 70 000 prostitutes are foreigners.

I'm still looking for more concret information in the case that interests us - Berlusconi´s register of "vagabonds", which in reality means roma people, and how the European Commission deal with it. But I will pass by some background information about italy and roma people as well...
